I use Webroot's Window Washer to clear temporary files, history etc, but recently have played a few pc games. I've not run window washer since I started these games, as I'm afraid that it will wipe my progress in the game, and I'll be back to square one. Is this the case, and if so, any way to get round it? Thanks!

WW shouldn't clean anything to do with savegames
.... but there is a difference between shouldn't and wouldn't

depending on the game .... progress is generally either saved to a sub-folder of the installation folder or to a folder in my documants .... and should have a file extension that doesn't ID it as a temp file - so you should be safe.

no guarantee without specific info .... but it's a fair bet

Thanks for that. I had a look into it, found the folders you mentioned, it looked good, so gave WW a whirl. And my game is still where I left it. Cheers!
