Whenever I get problems such as this I try the System File Checker (Start - Programs - Accessories - System Tools - System Information; Click the Tools tab and click System File checker). I don't know if it'll work but it won't do any harm.

I tried all of the above but could not find a system file checker. Thankyou for your help.
next time it happens note the name of the DLL and let us know so we can tell you what's wrong/how to fix it
btw do you have antivirus software running?
Mmmm. Well you could click 'Start' then 'Find' and select 'Files and folders' and tap in System File Checker. That should find it for you. If it does you may be able to d/click it in the window and I it may open up for you.
Start > run > type in sfc /scannow then OK. Beware: you may need the original OS CD.

The name of the dll is nview.dll routine initialization routine failed error loading nview. dll is the usual on screen message
nview is from your video software. Try uninstalling and reinstalling it.
Question Author
I'm sorry but i have know idea about video software/ not been on computer for long.didnt realise i had such software? can you give me some more clues, sorry about this.
With your computer you should've been given some software on CDs. Find the one for your video and check its name. Then go to 'My Computer' and d/click 'Control Box'. D/click 'Add/Remove' and find that software in the list. Highlight it and click 'Remove'; you may have to reboot. Place software CD in CD tray and reinstall it.
If you continue to have problems let me know if you want my email address.
nview.dll is the nVidia desktop and windows manager. You seem to have a video (or graphics) card made by the company nVidia. These cards include the GeForce and TNT cards. You can try to register the dll (start > run > type: regsvr32 nview.dll then OK) or reinstall the nVidia graphics card drivers. Go to here for the latest drivers (you must know the graphics card you are using) http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp
