How can an external modem for my laptop disconnect by itself? The laptop was turned off last night as usual but this morning I couldn't connect to the internet so when I contacted my ISP they guided me through Control Panel, Internet Connections and found that my Speedtouch was disconnected. Both lights on the modem were steady all this time.
