I was installing my applications after installing Vista Home Premium.
One warned me of possible "not supported" issue . I am certain I exited correctly without installing and went immediately into a BSOD (Blue Screen of Death).
After that Windows started but as soon as the mouse was moved another BSOD. Even a boot into safe mode went into a loop giving the same thing.
The only way I could get into System Restore was using the Original Setup Disk.
Anyone else had problems ?

Did XP work ok?
Besides a prettier interface what does Vista give you that XP can't?

My advice would be to stick with XP until you have no choice left.

Many vendors are having trouble producing Vista drivers - NVidia is still having trouble and Creatives Vista drivers are buggy as hell. Many are even saying that only their most recent hardware will get Vista drivers.
If you'd typed Vista into the search box at the left, you would have known before installing it that virtually no-one on here recommends it, and most of us have decided that it is flaky, unreliable, and a big step backward from XP.
