Has anyone got any idea as to what might be causing a problem that I am experiencing with my Windows Media Player lately? The problem is whilst watching a movie (with the Windows Media Player) that I have downloaded, the screen suddenly goes a lot brighter and the text on my task bar goes slightly blurred. The only way I have managed to get the screen back to normal is by rebooting my P C . Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

No idea why, but you could try and get the latest drivers from your graphics card maker. If you have onboard sound then get the latest down load from the board maker.
maybe it's because Microsoft made it.
I would update DirectX. It can be found at the Microsoft web site and search for 'DirectX'. DirectX has a hand in all media files when played. If you are unsure which version you have Click Start-Run- and type in 'DxDiag' and hit return. This will bring up the DirectX window and show you which version you have.
