i have recently changed to bt broadband and taken their security package. this is norton , is it ok to run the norton firewall as well as the windows firewall or does it have to be one or the other ? If so which one would be better . I keep getting a request to choose between the two to run on my computer.

The windows firewall is a basic firewall and not that effective.

I have no experience of the Norton one but would guess it is better.
Good article about the limitations of the Windows firewall, and using 2 firewalls at the same time:

Niether. use Zone Alarm. Norton is awful. Probably why BT sell it as they are also awful.
