We need a little more information about your computer... what operating system? How much RAM, what processor, and what video card?

Does it install, or is it the installer that won't even start?
Click Start... (All) Programs... Google Earth then click Start Google Earth in DirectX mode. If it still freezes, try choosing Start Google Earth in OpenGL mode instead. If one of them works, the program will remember and you can go back to using the shortcut on your desktop.

If neither work, a good first step would be to update your graphics card driver. If it still doesn't work, uninstall then reinstall the software. If it still doesn't work then, you may not be able to get the software working on your computer, but post back with the info fo3nix was looking for and we'll see what we can do.

Google Earth installs OK-but when I open it,
the program freezes after about 10 secs or so.
Hope this makes sense.
Thanks again.
In which case I'd recommend going what Ralph suggested and try and download the latest drivers for your graphics card. If you right-click My Computer on the desktop and then click properties, a window will open. In there I think there's a hardware tab and under that, a button labelled 'device manager'.

There you should be able to find out what your graphics card is, and then goto that manufacturer's website and download the driver.
