Greetings each.
I have a PC which operates on WINXP-Media Centre Edition. It appears to have had an earlier OS - WINXP-Pro - which I thought I had removed.
On boot-up I am presented with OS Choice Menu which displays both systems and informs me that the highlighted system (XP Media Edition) will boot in 30 seconds.
How can I either, remove all reference to XP-Pro or, reduce the time lapse from 30 seconds to 1 second so that the "OS System Option" isn't so prominent please?
I see no reference to anything relevant in BIOS Setup.
Cheers!

On the boot drive there will be a boot.ini file (this may be hidden) and it will be read only, you will need to remove the read only flag. open the boot.ini file in notepad and you can change / remove the options in there. Or if it is just the timeout you want to change.. rightclick on the my computer icon select properties, then click on the advanced tab and select settings under the "startup and Recovery" section.

Hey Wiggal:
E-X-C-E-L-L-E-N-T!!!!! Many thanks.
I did the Start-->Run--->cmd-->bootcfg /delete /ID 2 thingy.
It worked a treat!!
Why didn't I think of that?
Cheers.
