Putting Comp. on standby

Is it better to switch off broadband when leaving the computer on standby, or does it not matter ? Concerned re others gaining access during down time.

I leave mine on, but if it worries you it's obviously better for you to turn it off.

You should enable some sort of firewall to stop others from gaining access. Use the firewall on your router (if you have one) along with either Microsofts in built firewall or a 3rd party firewall like Norton or Zone Alarm.

Thanks for answers, I do have Norton but it is easy to leave BB on and I just thought of the possibility.
