A few days ago, I bought Roxio easy media Creator suite 8 and I installed it on my computer. Ever since then, my internet working has been very slow especially on some forums. Is it a coincidence, or could there be a connection between the two?

Open up the Windows Task Manager and check the resourses. ie, the CPU is coping and you have enough RAM.
Does the Media Suite run from startup? If it does then disable it on startup and try again.

Thank you, Badlad. By opening the Windows task manager, I have discovered that the number of RAM used on my system was 439.36 RAM. The number of RAM taken up by my Roxio is 436 RAM. I have stopped the Roxio icon from appearing when my computer restarts, just as you have suggested.

I may need to go to the computer shop and have more RAMs fitted into my hard drive. Do you agree?

This morning, this AnswerBank worked well enough and my e-mail facility worked alright, but that forum was slow again.
You may need more RAM but it doesn't go in your hard drive, there should be vacant slots for additional RAM, take it to a specialist and get their advice.
Although you have a reasonable amount of RAM, in my opinion, you can never have enough.
But before you do, check again to make sure its this Roxio program. It seems a lot of memory for just one program. Is there another program starting and just hanging around doing nothing?
Also, check to make sure that something like your Anti-virus or Anti-Spyware isn't doing a full system scan etc.
Do ctrl+alt+del, and click the processes tab. click the "CPU" heading twice to put the highest CPU number at the top. what are the image names that appear at the top, with CPU numbers above 30 or so?

then click the "mem usage" column title twice to put the highest memory-using programs at the top: what are these programs?

The highest memory using programs all over 30,000 K are
iexplore.exe 60,000
AcroRd32.exe 39,600
explorer.exe 33,700

The next highest one is McShield.exe which is under 30,000 at 17,600.
what about their CPU ratings? what are the highest CPU ratings?
Question Author
When I clicked twice on the CPU as you suggested, there was only one which was over 30. System Idle process was 98. All the others were 0 except explorer.exe which was 2.
Hmm that sounds ok then really. Is it just your internet that's slow, or your computer in general?

If it's just the internet, it's probably just a coincidence.
