I cannot log in to MSN Messenger

I recently installed a router to share the internet on our two computers but am now having trouble logging in to msn ever since i enabled security features on the router. I tried loggin into the router and changing the virtual server settings hoping it would solve the problem but I have not managed it yet! Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

ok, what brand of router is it?

also, what security features have you enabled? perhaps try disabling them, to confirm it is them stopping the transfer.

i get an error message- your gateway appears to be offline.

its an safecom sbru 10 100 router and i disabled the safety features still no joy!

More importantly i cannot run live update in Norton AntiVirus
