Can anyone tell me what the battery is called that is installed in the computer tower?

My computer is Windows 98 and is about 6 or 7 years old. The clock in the right lower corner of my screen shows the time as a few minutes slow and I have to reset the clock now and then - which isn't a problem. But I may have to replace the battery.

Can I do this - or should it be done by an expert?

Will anything be lost when the old battery is removed?

Thank you...

no, its quite easy. Here are the instructions, with pictures on how to change it. The battery looks like a large version of a watch battery

Thankyou spaced. I've saved the article in favourites. I'll buy the battery before I take out the old one.

Incidently, I typed the whole website into my address bar - rather than click on it - and it came up instantly.

I feel a whole lot easier now! Thanks again.

I've been changing the battery on something else LOADS and noticed that the size was "CR2032" - I noticed that this was similar looking to the one inside my PC.
I was just going to say look for "cr2032" on google images to give you an idea of the size and shape of the battery. (Like a watch battery but bigger)
On the pictures above, it's that exact size. I feel like a right geek for guessing that correctly :(
