How Do I Cancel An Email Stuck Sending ?

I started sending an email on my Android phone yesterday. Noticed a while later it was still sending, & still is now.

Tried force stop but not doing anything. Any suggestions how I can get this email out of the Outbox ? Don't need to send now.

Was the email actually delivered? i.e. Has the recipient recieved it?

If not is it "stuck" in draft form? If so, go into drafts and delete the script.

You can also long touch the email icon and press the "i" if it pops up (right hand side) ... Storage/ clear cache. If that isn't there try clearing app data. I also think I would do a full reboot by closing power down and see what happens.

Don't think they got it, Toga. Was forwarding another email that had photos attached, & the Fwd email is trying to send the same photos. No need, both emails to same person. I ended up copying the text & sending another one with no attachments, just the text.

It's in Outbox, not Drafts. Cleared cache, made no difference. Will try switching phone off/on. If no joy then, will try clearing data.

Switching phone off/on not cleared it. Would clearing data delete email addresses or any emails ?

Can't you delete it from the Outbox?

No, wolf, delete is greyed out.

Can you open drafts? Open your email and touch on the three hamburger bars and enter drafts there. Choose drafts from the menu and delete that email you typed up.

You can also check, using the three horizontal bars(hamburger) whether it is showing in sent. If it is there then delete it there.

DON'T DELETE DATA! This will delete the phone directory and all its data.

It's not in Drafts, it's not in Sent. It's in Outbox & status bar says Sending. Has since yesterday morning.

I can go into the email, can't edit it & Delete is greyed out.

Think I went into the email in Outbox, hit the 3 dots & was an option to Delete all. Whoop, whoop - thanks :)
