Mouse - Getting Really Cross Now.

Mac OSX  Catalina 10.15.7
Running firefox and using 'proper' apple mouse.
Changed the batteries twice now, current ones are showing 86% power.
Ruddy thing keeps saying 'connection lost' and a few seconds later 'connected'.
It really is driving me to distraction, what else can I do please?

Thanks Chris, I'll try the foil option first, I've had the mouse a while so maybe the fit has got sloppy.
