Music dowload help needed (Mac User)

I've just downloaded a song from the artists website and it shows up as a .hqz file in my desktop. When I double click on it to play it it asks me to selct an application to use with it. I've tried itunes and nothing happens.
How do I play the song and how do I get it into itunes?
