Google Photos Different On Ipad To Android Phone

Just saved all my photos to Google Photos on ipad mini. When I tried opening the same on my Android phone the format is completely different. I want to add photos from my phone to Google Photos.. Upload them to an album... The same as I have just done on the ipad and look at them both the same., ie switch from one to the other Is this possible?
