I am using VueScan with a ScanJet5300C.. I am having problems . It scans in JPEG OK but when I try to open the file I received the message "Invalid value for registry". If scan PDF the file is too large.

Any input would be much appreciated. Not actually a technophobe but do have trouble on occasions.

Thank you.

Forgot to say I have recently gone to Windows 10 without problems.
Win 10 is not good at updating printer / scanner drivers - delete all mentions of your printer scanner and then go to the manufacturers website and get the latest drivers for your printer and Win 10 = you`ll need to know if you are on 32 or 64 bit
To find out if your computer is running 32-bit or 64-bit Windows, do the following:
Open System by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, and then clicking System.
Under System, you can view the system type.
