I have just received an email from paypal thanking me for authorising the payment of $67.80 from my paypal account to Samantha Lorete, whoever she is, with an order number & reference etc.. As far as I am aware I do not have paypal account, so didnt click on the link. If I dont have an account, how will they get the money?

they may just want you to click on an ad, thus confirming that their robots have found a real email address (which they will use to bombard you with spam) or they may want to install some malware on your computer. Either way, you've done the right thing.

I get those and I DO have PAYPAL. There's always a sentence hidden away with "click on this link" if you want to cancel the payment, that's their way of getting details. It's a Scam...delete.
