Hi Guys
Before you read this please be aware you are speaking to a bear of very little brain and direct any answers accordingly.
Having used iTunes for years we kept getting that annoying exclamation mark besides some songs and having fixed it from time to time got fed up with iTunes and went on to WMP.
WMP was fine but if you downloaded a CD into it would show in the library but not play so we uninstalled and reinstalled WMP and that solved the problem.
HOWEVER this time round WMP has collected both the songs in My Music and the iTunes files on the computer and doubled up many songs, as fast as we delete the dupicates WMP updates and reinstalls them!!
I have Googled the problem and this is the answer to my problem (I think) but I don't know how to solve the issue.
"I figured out what was happening. It is taking the songs out of my music folder. The second set of songs is coming out of my itunes folder. I just need to take my itunes folder out of the music folder and that should work. Thanks for your help. "
So the above answer says "I just need to take my iTunes folder out of the music folder"
OK, so how do I do that and what do I then do with the iTunes folder ie where do I put it.

If you google move itunes library you should get step by step instructions from Apple on how to do it.

You may also have a setting in Windows media player to automatically scan the computer for music files - if there is such a feature, turn it off.
