Avast Blocking My External Hard Drive

My Avast demanded to be updated yesterday, so I did. Now when I plug my external hard drive in (a little Maxell portable) nothing comes up and I can't back things up. I assume these two events are connected as there was no trouble till today.

Is there any way to tell Avast to permit it? Or of restoring the earlier Avast? (Though I assume the latter would be risky.)

(Please don't advise installing MSE instead as I had the same trouble with it in the past; that's why I installed Avast in the first place.)

that was okay, I was worried a week falling asleep on the sofa every afternoon mightn't be enough preparation for an excursion into the heart of Berkingfordshire but we both survived and there were some great light shows on the outside walls of the house.

Back from a delightful lunch, it really was nice and I had 2 glasses of wine so feel good again. Just sitting in the warm watching old Corrie episodes.

Bright and sunny here but very cold, a real feel of (swetibiza please note) 2C. I see Ibiza is shivering in a measly 19C. scowls

Not 19° at all but yes pleasant.
Got bus to hospital 25 mins. In and out of hospital for x-ray 20mins. Waited 5 mins and got the next bus baxk home. Well pleased.
Next hurdle is taking car thru MOT Wednesday. It terrifies me.

Hi all. Lovely day here.
I love those fires woofy I want one for the bedroom s I love the glow. I do have the flame effect to put in to log burner when we are not using it and use butane gas fire instead. I've missed 2nd hand ones one for £50 and one for £100. Cost a fortune new over here.
Where's shaney? Hope she's ok.

I love it woofy, it would be nice in my front room. I bought a smaller cream one a couple of years ago from Dunelm for the empty fireplace in the dining room. It's a great booster for the heating if needed, just 10/15 mins is enough, and the logs look lovely.

Ah that is lovely. Of course Henry will go to Heaven. I think Greggs were a tad thoughtless ( esp if sausage roll was pork) but I certainty wouldn't avoid going there.

Quite agree jno.
Very quiet in here. We had a walk round Ibiza old town and ate at Burger King. Having had a very spicy curry for the last 2 nights we didn't fancy much. My shoulder/neck is so painful.

Bloomin' cold out there. Ooh I love onions ...but they don't love me:)
That's a terrible earworm Robinia ,nearly as bad as Finchley Central.
I like those fires too but we've got a nice open fireplace in the front room.We did think about a wood burner but far too costly as the chimney would need relining.
I'm OK Neti just the usual chronic aches and pains.I've made an appt to see the doctor but not until the end of the month.Fed up with not being able to get about and I get miserable.I doubt there's much they can do though.

I'm dreading putting up the decs and tree. I now have a big tree and no spare room in which to put all the decs as I am sorting them so instead of 3 days I'll have to do it in a day. I will start earlier this year. Just spent 30€ pn yet more lights. I saw some very dainty ones but couldn't find them the next day so bought others. 7.5 m so hope theyll be long enough. I don't ant to put loads of different ones on.

Just had an early Xmas present. Was chatting on WhatsApp to hija and she let out that she was paying for a 9 day holiday in Dubai in Feb flying Emirates business class from Barcelona with Mr N. I said he'll never go but apparently they have hatched all this up between them and he didn't say a word. She's even arranged a cat sitter!
