Dear Ed:

When one is doing quizzes these days, there seem to be more and more rounds that included photos. The net helps with finding a lot, but I am sure that AB subscribers could help with a lot more.

Could/Would you consider opening another topic where your subscribers could download photos to seek help (or is it too difficult)?

Hoping this is possible, and please ensure you keep the site up and running.

Certainly could be done, or those asking the question could upload and link to a tinypic page? I think that's the normal way currently.

Could you give me some examples of quizzes with picture rounds?

Diddly....you don't have to look !
Isn't giving money to the charity the main reason for entering these quizzes?
diddlydo, like minty said, don't look!
I don't look but many do. And there are far too many people out there who have no idea of fair play. Not all the quizzes are for charity anyway.
bore off diddlydo - if you don't like, don't look. Given that over 10% of your questions are asking for a crossword clue, you are hardly one to talk

(ok, so it's only one question) but it's still more than 10% :)
diddlydo - here is a quote from 'higher up'.

''We have a community of jolly quizzers who like helping each other out - it is their prerogative to buy the quiz as it is theirs to ask questions here.''

AnswerBank is a Q&A site - says it all really.
There hasn't been a good set-to on Q&P for a while At one time they were always squabbling...it made good viewing:-)
Afternoon Ed. Here's a quiz which calls for identifying pictures . . . .

Bednobs - that single crossword clue I posted a year ago was on behalf of a friend who wasn't sure if he had the correct answer (he had).
i don't really care - you posted on this site for the answer to a clue, which, by applying your logic, completely ruined it for the others. I notice you didn't thank people for helping you either :)
That single question for a crossword clue was a very local school quiz and there were precisely 25 entrants which is hardly in the same league as national prize quizzes which people pay a not inconsiderable sum to enter.
Do geographical locations matter when using the WWW?
I have always maintained that Crosswords and Quizzes are very different and treat them so when answering. A crossword tends to be ephemeral and short-lived, quizzes often have months to run.

I have tried the 'giving extra clues' approach but someone always wants to leap in (fair enough), so now try to avoid even that.

I see no problem with the odd question from a quiz but if we take the OP's suggestion fully on board, you could get a quiz in the morning and publish it here and be posted off in the evening. As an avid quizzer I see no entertainment in that.

A fair balance needs to be struck, an almost impossible ask if the past history of this topic is to go by.

"lazy illiterates"

How rude!
You certainly seem to do that Diddly...........
Well, I certainly don't want to be associated with the 'lazy illiterates' term you use - I would never think or say that.

As said I am an avid quizzer and regularly send back sheets with a blank or two or sometimes a guess - that way I learn how each setter works - some are very devious.

We are all different and am sure many don't see it that way.
Lazy illiterates. Well! I don't think many on here give a diddlydo what you may think, diddlydo.

Quote taken from AnswerBank rules: Treat others as you would like to be treated and respect other people’s opinions. Discussions can get passionate but users should moderate their language and refrain from personal attacks and profanity. We encourage lively debate but name calling, harassment or abuse will not be tolerated.
