|was trying to restore my PC to an earlier point....I go mixed up with the back up element. I was asked to attach an extenrnal back up device which I did. My Ext hard drive
I attached my external hard drive then cancelled the process when I realised this was a different function. I ejected my external HD and then found the process I was looking for and PC running again great. Just noticed now that my HD has been wiped and everything gone. Just 4 files on it efi, boot, sources and then bootmgr and boot.efi. When I attached my ext HD to the pc is has renamed its self 'Recovery' .
Have lost everything or can someone pc savvy get it back?

Am devastated

It sounds like it was trying to install Windows on your external hard drive and began the install process but you then cancelled it.

But it has deleted all the files on your EHD.

You may be able to "find" them again with a program like Recuva.
