I think you will have to do a 'googling' on this one.

It's a problem which I think has plagued Norton Users for many years.

I thought about uninstalling it and stuff but I'm worried as I dunno if it will take it. We shall see :)

Thank you for your response Alston :)
No, I don't - ours does it auromatically every week, it does it overnight.
I think you will find that most of AB's Top-Techie members recommend MSE (Microsoft Security Essentials) as their choice for an Anti Virus programme and it costs nothing. Consequently, if you are thinking of scrapping Norton then I would suggest you download and run MSE:-

I might give that a bash Alston thank you.

Mine does too Boxy but for some reason it ran one on the 2nd said it had completed but when you go in to check it say's it was cancelled.
The way I would go about completely removing Norton so that no traces are left to interfere with any other AV programme you install, is:-

Click Start > Control Panel > Programmes and Features. Then click onto and uninstall anything which makes a reference to Norton. Follow-on with downloading Norton's Removal Tool and running it on your computer so that any residual files are also removed:-
