Could be overheating processor, do you know how to remove a processor fan and apply thermal paste? It could be that your fans need cleaning, that would be case fans and processor fan (heatsink), or your motherboard could be on it's way out.

Oh right ok, well the motherboard is fairly new as in replaced past 2 years. But saying that I guess it could be but I wonder if it could be the processor fan...but everything inside looks very very clean and tidy..ive seen a lot worse and working fine lol...still will have a look and see.worth a go I guess
Good luck, I hope you manage to fix it.

I hope so just cant think its the fans as they look really clean etc etc..but im cleaning them anyways to be totally sure.
Are you re-installing from a Windows XP disc and are you formatting the HDD first before installing? Make sure the disc is clean and not scratched, a gentle wash with fairy liquid and dry with a soft lint free cloth may help.

Check your memory sticks and make sure the contacts are perfectly clean and unmarked and seated correctly. Don't fill all of the memory slots, just do two of them, you can re-fit the others later. Go round and check all expansion cards are fitted correctly and all other leads are secure.

When you switch on do all of the fans go round, including the CPU fan? If you can, leave a side panel off and see if it still blue screens.

What error codes are you getting?

I will have another look later today and see what the error actually says.but I have tried diffierent memory and different hdd and all do some sort of error. for easiness een tried to install windows 7 but it just chames half way and I know the disc is fine....basically it either seems to just jam half way through if I use win 7 or it just comes up error and restarts...really don't know what else to try...but will have another go later and let you know how I get on....
