Excel Worksheet Comments

I have entered some comments in some cells on an Excel worksheet. When I go in to try and edit them I can enter text and the return key, but if I try the direction keys to move further up the comment, or press any other keys, the comment suddenly closes.Any ideas?

Are you using 'Edit Comment' from the menu?

I am right-clicking in the cell and selecting 'edit comment' from the drop-down menu.
