Will having a silver membership allow you to play Minecraft online against others?

I've set up an account for my little one and she likes to play Minecraft with her cousin.

She's been using my Gold account so far but would be good for her to use her own profile - which is only silver.

thanks trigs. Not sure why they bother with Silver - maybe it is designed to be so bad people go gold out of frustration.

Mrs Booldawg is happy with silver as she only plays Zumas Revenge and you get Leaderboard visibility.
