No sound when using Flash Player and Firefox

When using Firefox and watching anything that uses Adobe Flash Player there is no sound. On various forums it suggests that the problem is caused by updates downloaded from Adobe and that installing an earlier version will cure the problem.

I deleted the version I was using (11.something) but do not know which of the many earlier versions is safe to use and where to download it from.

Has anyone else had the same problem and know the answer?

I had a problem with Flash Player recently -

I'm now on FF 14.0.1 & the problem persists with the newer version of Flash, so have once again reverted to version 10.3 & it's working fine. I got the older version here -

HTH - if not, I'm sure someone more qualified will be able to assist you :-)
