Changing colour display settings?

As with most new laptops and PCs lately, for some reasons the default colour seems to an awful milky blue/magenta.
In theory, I know how to adjust the colour to the way I want it, ie. right click anywhere, go to graphics display and adjust colour brightness and contrast sliders. But with this particular laptop it doesn't give that option - I only get 3D settings and Display, and in the latter, I only get an option to tinker with multiple displays, not the colour. Its an Nvidia like my others, anyone know why this is?
