Problems printing

I have an HP laptop and wireless printer who won't speak to each other today.

If I try to print it fails.

The status of the printer from the laptop is Error - needs trouble shooting. I've tried running the trouble shoot and it fixes everything but the connectivity when it finally tells me to contact my administrator! Oh how I wish I had on of those!

I've reconnected the printer to the wireless network, rebooted both but no luck. I just cannot seem to get a link going between the two. Any ideas?

PS The only thing that's changed since I printed last was I changed the magenta cartridge this morning.

It's your computer, Maiders .............. you can be administrator if you want!
Google something like "Windows log on as administrator". The fixes are on there.

Thanks builder but I am the administrator, (checked the account and it is set as that) and logged in as admin, still don't know what to do to connect with my printer.
No Techies appear to be around I'm afraid, so I can only tell you what I do in these circumstances.................... uninstall all the printer software, drivers etc.......... then re-install from disk. You should be "as new" then.

I'm sure there are simpler, more direct ways of fixing this, but at least you're sure of a clean installation with this.
Le Builder, is there no end to your talents?
Ah ............. Madame Overoid........... I don't like to stick my nose in though ...... don't want to incur the wrath of Fikkens......... :o(
Had similar problem with my Kodak printer every time it asked about checking for updates. Do as The Builder said uninstall and re-install.

I don't remember having to load disks when I started - I feel sure the printer drivers were all downloaded online. I'll have a look around.

Could it be my Firewall? I renewed Norton a week or so ago , but can't think if i've printed since.
