I don't know the site, but the prices look attractive - do you have to pay a membership fee before you can order?
look around for other deals, and Kaspersky is very good. I bought the 2011 all seeing/dancing cover for 20 quid.
I'd stay away from them...

£60 is stupidly expensive though, if you really insist on paying (you can get perfectly good security software for free) then it's available from much more reputable places for a lot less than that.

Amazon.co.uk User Recommendation

Even pcworld are half that price.

Or alternatively ditch Norton and go for Microsoft security essentials which is just as good for free.

(and cue all the people saying norton is rubbish.... if anyone says that they clearly don't follow recent IT news)

haven't got as far as membership fee.and also saw kaspersky stuff.got two weeks to decide but thanks.
I haven't seen the recent IT news, chuck - what did it say? - we like Norton.
Norton is ok but expensive and also slows down your pc as it uses a lot of memory.
Boxie - Norton is very expensive, and no better than AVG, which is free.
Microsoft security essentials is getting pretty good too.
Recent IT news (i.e. anything in about the last 2-3 years) will say that grumpy's answer is wrong.
I know - but we still like it, it does what it's supposed to.
Stick with it, then, Boxie.

I had a lot of problems with Norton a couple of computers ago - it wrote loads of stuff into the registry which had to be painstakingly winkled out.

That was an earlier version, and these programs are being improved all the time.
I recently bought Norton Internet Security 3PC version from local PC World for £27.
When my Norton was due for renewal I removed it and put on Microsoft security essentials , does everything Norton did and it is free does auto updates and all.Two years ago now and never had as much as a hint problem with it. I just do not see why anyone pays for something when you can get the same for nothing.
boxtops - unless I'm too bleary-eyed first thing to be reading properly, Chuck is agreeing with you and saying Norton's ok (it used not to be). But there is free stuff that's just as good.
Never paid for an Antivirus and never will , Avast anti virus is a free one and in my opinion is as good as any other.
"As good as any other"

Hmm - well I think that's obviously not true - any mre than saying a Ford is as good as any other - but it may be good enough.

Remember there is moe than one way to measure "Good"

Is it detection rates that is most important, or how fast it runs or how quickly new threats are covered or how easy it is to use or how good it is at removing infections from a machine that's already got something on it?

Once I would have said that a key consideration is how risky your usage patter is - whether you download programs or visit adult sites but malware authors seem to have become pretty good at exploiting vulnerabilities to the point that something like 6% of home PCs are infected.

In terms of raw infection sites like av comparitives tell you how good some of the software is

Avast and AVG are middle of the pack - Microsoft further down

If you're paying for one you want to make sure you're getting support - the ability to ring someone up and say "Help!!!"
AVG is one of the worst anti virus applications around in my opinion. Not because it doesn't detect virus but because it slows down boot up and browsing to an unacceptable level.
Norton is pretty good these days though and I would happily have it on any of my 3 PCs, I prefer MSE though because it's free :)

GRUMPY .. Wrong AGAIN. You obviously are not informed.

I always recommend Norton as a Paid-for AV solution.
I still stick by this.

If you want free .. use Microsoft Security Essentials.
If you want free, and do not have a legit Windows license .. use AVG or Avast.
You can buy NAV2012 1-year (up to 3x PC's) online for about £16 if you look around.
I renewed mine with Norton on-line, they deleted the old version and loaded the new version for £29.00...............
