Should be, it'd be a little hard to reinstall from them if they were not.

Thanks Chuck. The reason I ask is because I need to do a re install on my mini notebook and as it has no CD drive, I`m having to buy one in order to do the re install. But I heard that all re install media, whether it be by USB memory, memory card or CD, must first be made bootable, which is a little beyond my "skills" at the moment. I assume from your answer that it would be safe for me to buy a CD drive to do the job?
As long as you can change the CMOS settings to make your new external drive bootable.
It's not the media needs to be made bootable, as it already will be, you'll just need to change the boot order so the netbook boots from the CD drive first rather than the hard drive. look along the bottom of the screen when you first turn it on and you'll probably see a message flash up that says something like "press F10 to change boot order"..... just press whatever key it says at that point and select the CD drive as the first boot device.

Many thanks. I`ll get a CD drive and hopefully get results. I`ll report how I get on later.
