Do you want it just for photos? I went for 2 printers, a small laser for text etc and an Epson Photo printer. I'm very happy with my set-up and get professional quality photos at a reasonable price and I don't have to spend a fortune on inks.

Hi vallaw,

No A general purpouse printer, not with a built in scanner and all that but one that will do documents and photos
The Canon Pixma range scores consistently well in reviews:

The iP3600 will only cost you around £60 from Amazon

or Tesco:

Why would you print your own photos? It is far cheaper and more reliable to get it done on a photoprinting machine.
Canon pixma ip4700 is good. Get ink from 7dayshop.com to save money.
I have an Canon MP220 and find it very capable for all my needs, and have just checked out 7dayshop.com for inks and find their prices are the cheapest I have seen.
Massive majority in favour of Canon so far!

My Canon MP560 gives great quality, scans & copies and has Wi-fi.
4 separate ink cartridges, so you never throiw ink away as you do with some multicolour cartridges.
