Desktop not accepting photo`s

Done this many times but now won`t work, Help please.

What do you mean when you say that your desktop isn't 'accepting photos'? If you're trying to use a picture on your computer as 'wallpaper', here's how I'd do it. (If you're trying a similar route, please explain where it goes wrong):
Right-click on the desktop and enter 'Properties'.
Click the 'Desktop' tab, and then on browse.
Navigate to the location of the required picture and double-click on it.
Click 'Apply and then 'OK'

After transferring photo`s from my camcorder to Picasa, I click on the preferred picture then on `Create` and then on to `Desktop` and when I switch off the PC the photo is usually on the Desktop.
That sounds like an error within Picasa. Try reinstalling it, or using System Restore.

Alternatively, simply follow my instructions above.
