How can I access my history on Internet Explorer 9

Have just updated my computer to IE9,but have not got the part on the left side of the window where one can open up Favourites or History,I particulary want the latter as I often search through it to find something I had been looking at previously.
So can anyone help.pleeeese!!!!

I thought after the last discussion you would not update to IE9.
Lot of problems with IE9.
Don't know why you don't try Firefox 4. No troubles with that at all.
Kloof, it's on the right hand side now at the top, there's a house (Home) and a star and a wheel. Favourites is the star.
I don't like IE9 at all.

Found them..thanks Boxtops...no,I do not like IE9 either,did not download on purpose...was doing my Microsoft updates and that`s what I got...when I saw what was being downloaded,tried to cancel...but couldn`t.
Can I go back to IE8,have Windows 7...which I do not like either...only had it a couple of months and HATE it!!!
At least my laptops are XP.
