England can thank the South African's big partnership for making the run chase so easy.
yet another england hater!!
why do people hate england winning anything!!
gets on my nerves especially if they live in this country too!!!
well done england the best 2 teams played the final and the best team in the tornament won so get over it toalisi!!
en g l a n d !!!! england!!
Just been hearing about it on the sports news this morning - well done England, I hope they get a good homecoming welcome. If Chelsea's parade yesterday was anything to go by, we can do it!

Thanks toalisi for demostrating exactly the sort of thing I'm talking about. If England win there is always some reason why the victory is "invalid". If we lose then it's because the opposition were superior. Well Done you must be very proud.

Strange post. You only posted this to slap someone down.

Toalisi diddn't say the win was invalid, she didn't say the best team didn't win all she did was state the truth. I would have thought that you would have been the first to use the fact that "foreigners" were in an English team.

So Toalisi proved nothing except we can trust you to contradict yourself when it suits you, whichever way you colour it.
Thanks Dave.
I thought I had made a fair comment but didn't want to get into a slanging match with that particular poster.

Your welcome and your right.

That's rubbish Dave, the 2 batsman that toalis was using for a na na nana moment are in fact English, it said so on their shirts.
Fair enough but she was in no way being negative
It may say it on their shirts, but does it say it on their passports?

And surely it's far more likely to be somebody on the right of politics criticising people for 'Comin' over here, nicking our jobs'.

Now it's not 'an invalid win'. One team beat another team, and by a large margin. They were certainly the best two sides in the competition and the game was great to watch. But I wouldn't mind betting that there are quite a number of young wicket-keepers playing county cricket at the moment who resent the way in which this has been done.

Read Jonathan Agnew, as well qualified as anybody to talk, I'd have thought, on the subject here:

And finally, just because somebody disagrees with you, R1Geezer, it doesn't make them a 'lefty', they just don't agree with you.

It always staggers me that people like Jatte feel able to comment on a game they don't / can't / choose not to understand. ".........always played at empty grounds......", Oh dear, check your facts there please. You try walking up to an England v ANYBODY Test Match / ODI / T20 game in this country & you will not get in. Tickets have to be bought months in advance, a full day's International Sport for about the same price you would pay to watch a Premier League game that lasts 90 odd minutes plus Fergie time.

".............The best footballers in the world will be on show in a few weeks, unmatched anywhere for their skills and prowess...........". I for one will watch the World Cup because I am patriotic. However, no matter how skillful they may be they are still foul-mouthed, overpaid, cheating (on & off the field, now why has JT been stripped of the captaincy......? Oh yeah I remember, do you?) Prima Donnas who find it acceptable to dupe the referee into getting players booked or sent off. Not very good role models for the youngsters coming into the game, perhaps the parents have the same morals though, ie "Win at all costs", "I'm alright Jack" & "Its ok to lie & cheat as long as you get away with it".
As far as football personalities go I think you are being unfair if you want to use what the media want to stoke up thats fine, but how many individuals are you talking about 10? less against that is the huge amount of charitable good works that are done by many clubs and thier players.

Swearing every sportsman swears in some way or another.

Blaming the surface? Cricketers never do anything else but blame the surface - to slow - to fast - the out field was wet - longs grass - short grass. The only surface I have heard universaly condemed in football is Wembley and nearly every team who have played on it have criticised it. So there might be a point.

Officials Cricketers always blame umpires they may not shout in thier faces but there has never been an undisputed LBW in the history of cricket.

Overpaid depends where you play if you are in the premier league and employed by a private company that is making multi millions every year why should you get paid they won't make thos millons filming grass growing.

As you go down the leagues players are far from overpaid and given the shortness of thier careers ill prepared for the financial reality that awaits in thier mid thirties.

Who cries like babies.

As for the empty grounds county cricket, which I love, is played in virtualy empty grounds every day and in time terms county cricket is the game that takes up more days than anyother form of the game.

I don't disagree a lot of high profile footballers could do with an attitude adjustment but for every John Terry theres a Jamie Carragher - Sol Campell - Richard Dunne etc
Good answer Dave,

and how well publicised are the charitable efforts of even the most maligned players.

I am saying that you are following media hype there are some that do as you say but the majority are decent people of Englands 30 Terry- A Cole Maybe Lampard (but only in terms of respect)

King likes a drink but hes never driven a golfcart down a motorway.

Gerrard maybe unlucky probably not

Yes what you have said is up there is on show.

But its worth remembering if the didn't play football you wouldn't have heard about any of it. Gerrard might have got in the Wirral times.
