Why are pundits always so blinded by results?

England's game last night . . . "game of two halves" . . . "massive improvement" . . . "what did the manger say at half time?". . . .
Because we were 1-0 down at half time we were dire, but we were brilliant in the second half because we scored three.
In the game I was was watching, it was a pretty good performance over the 90 minutes, but we just happened to miss some clear cut chances in the first half, but not in the second.

It didn't fit mine either Steve. I had them down for a 2-1 win at the bookies!
Mariner I agree there were several good chances in the 1st half and I thought we played well.
