This man must be the most damaging thing for golf in the history of the game. It's no wonder he hardly won any tournaments; four I think, in his entire career. However, he was a regular top 10 player which gained him a few Ryder Cup appearances. He's so negative about everything to do with the playing aspect. No wonder golf club membership is falling when someone like him has a prime slot on TV in a major. Gawd help us!!

Golf club membership isn`t falling because of Ken Brown and his sidekicks, it`s falling because it`s so bloody expensive to join a golf club
I agree Elvis - and my brother's golf mad and can talk about it for hours. Maybe that's why I find it sauch a boring game...like fishing...and cricket.....
lol ice maiden i know what you mean - my other half's the same. All day sunday watching golf and cricket yuk. Roll on the footy season
Ice, we have to stop agreeing with each other all the time

Agreed?
I stopped playing golf when Tiger Woods came on the scene, and realised that there was more to life than being a moody miserable G1T worth millions.
tut tut trt, you really do hate Tiger Woods don`t you?

He`s done more for golf than any other player in golfing history, he`s not a miserable g!t, he`s a winner and he doesn`t like losing, that doesn`t make him a bad loser

Monty is the miserable g!t in golf not Tiger
Why - were you agreeing with me Elvis? Good man! : )

And yes, chelle - hideous sports. : )
Only on the cricket
Poo! These games are so yawn-inducing. One whack of a ball, and then either walk for miles, or stand around in a circle. Blimey, I could crochet a cat blanklet before a game of golf or cricket comes to an end!!! LOL!
Same can be said for horse riding Ice, one crack of the whip then ride around a field for hours lol
No, no Elvis - you've got it all wrong.
I don't use my whips on any horses. Everything's put in order in the tack room afterwards.....

Just seen your question 10ClarionSt. I think you're being a bit harsh. Whilst I agree that the BBC commentary team is not as good as it used to be but in the old days we had the great Henry Longhurst and Dave Marr to guide us through the coverage brilliantly. Neither will ever be surpassed in my opinion. It could be worse though, have you listened to Nick Faldo onUS TV? A once great golfer but he should stick to golf course design which he is good at (take Chart Hills for instance). Apart from Johnny Miller and maybe Peter Oosterhuis, I don't rate the American comentators, particularly the women who are over dramatic and you could imagine they are describing the events in a war zone. On UK TV I quite like the Sky team although Richard Boxall's cliches are irritating and on BBC, Peter Alliss's mistakes remind me of Murray Walker and at least it keeps us on our toes spotting the 'deliberate' faux pas'.
