Forgive my ignorance but why should Amir Khan merit a shot at any of the World Champions at his weight when he isn't even the British ( or European ? ) Champion. Surely they deserve their chance before he does?

Osprey, i agree with you 100%. Only a few fights ago he was knocked clean out by Breidis Prescott in a WBO Inter-Continental lightweight title. Since then Khan beat a lad in who is not even at Irish title level (Oisin Fegan) and a truely over the hill " Marco Antonio Barrerra"- both at lightweight.
My issue is that he is now been given a "World" Lightwelterweight title bid! A weight he has never fought before. Osprey it all stinks, but thats boxing. Its all about politics and money. Ask Frank Warren or Terry Marsh
