Jones, Parappopoloupikanilis , Brown , Smith , Macdonald.
The ancient greeks did not have surnames, however strange that may sound. I beleive it was Solon (of Athenian politics) who introduced an addition to peoples names, not nessessarily a surname, but a 'from' name, i.e. John would be known as John of Knossos etc.
