Billie Piper is starring as Sally in "The Ruby in the Smoke", based on the Philip Pullman novel, to be shown on BBC1 Boxing Day (or so I am led to believe).

SKA , kempie is correct. That ad is not just for Doctor Who but it is a mix of the programmes to be shown over Christmas. If you look carefully it has Docor Who,The Ruby In The Smoke, Robin Hood and The Wind In the Willows in it. So although you did see Billie Piper you did not see Rose .:-D
