Yesterday was St Patricks Day celebrated here in Ireland despite the bitter cold.I have an Italian visitor who could not identify who (if any) is the paron saint of Italy.Can anyone help.

Francis of Assisi is the Patron Saint of Italia. In italy every day is a saints day. So if for eg you name is john, on St John's day you would celebrate and receive presents as if it were your birthday.
