Thanks, Klazo! Got lost with the three clues, a faux pas with
24a in + demo=emodin ( I was a bit rash in not checking this out more carefully...)
Then the rest went wrong from there, 16d F in deli became "infield" instead of the more rational "infidel" and 13d "petroleum". So, NACW, you see where I got all those Es from. Much greater care and reflexion were called for here.

Thanks, Matakari - I was having a slight play on words, Es (drugs!) often crop sup in crosswords and you had a lot of them!
