I thought the whole idea of being out on your horse was to enjoy the ride and the countryside around you.
I live on the very edge of a village, and dozens of riders pass every day. Are they riding and enjoying the view?
No, they are all on their flipping phones.

No idea but we seem to be saddled with them.

I used to ride before a back injury stopped me, and I still really miss it.

I cannot imagine being on my phone while enjoying the unique experience of riding, but then, I am of the 'older' generation.
