They've shut Euston station due to overhead power cables down and trees on line apparently and it's the station he has to use. Can see complete chaos later on when everyone wants to get home!

Trees in the road down the road from me.

I'm a completely wuss when it comes to travel.
Where has Mr S got to get to, Smow?

Great excuse for a night out ;o)
Question Author
Erm he gets two trains and then a bus/tram but the bottom line is he need to get as close to East Croydon as possible
Question Author
For him or me Baldric? ; )
Is he at Euston or travelling towards it?

Works both ways Smow ;o)
Hi Smowy,

If he can make it to either London Bridge or Victoria main train stations, there are direct trains to East Croydon, on the Gatwick and South coast destinations.
I'm confused!

Trains out of Euston run northwards but East Croydon is south of London and served by trains from Victoria and London Bridge. Is he going via the scenic route?
I think he must be travelling towards London on a line which terminates at Euston.
That baffles me too, Chris......Maybe he likes train journeys.
Knowing the station of origin would help.
yes, there will be many an office affair sparked off tonight, no doubt.
If a train was due to run into Euston, but had to be terminated short of there, it's likely to end its journey at Watford Junction. There's a train service from Watford Junction to East Croydon (either direct or with a change at Clapham Junction), so there's no need to go into central London anyway.

Sorry I was frozen out again!! My geography is terrible re trains but think he gets train at Euston to Kings Cross (but that is probably wrong) then he gets another train and ends up at East Croydon where he can get a tram or a bus
Question Author
He's actually working right by Euston station
He can walk from Euston to Kings Cross, Smow.
If he's at Euston he simply needs to take a Northern Line train to London Bridge and catch his train from there.

Only National Rail services will be affected by the closure of Euston. Underground services will be running normally.
You can't get a train from Euston to King's Cross anyhow. If Euston underground is closed then walk to King's Cross (10 mins) and take the tube to Victoria.

Ah right let me check with him exactly where he gets the train to lol. Told you my geography was bad!
