EEK..never !
I checked down the back of the sofa and I only have £79k spare. So I guess that rules it out this year. Ah, well.
that was 2013 naomi..more now ?
If I was given them for nothing, I wouldn't bother. I would rather read a book or have a kip. Same with football, motor racing, cricket, golf. Though I do like a game of chess.

Oh, sorry murraymints. It's just that I read in one of the papers (last night's London Evening Standard I think) that two tickets were going for over £50,000. I searched and found that and assumed that the price had risen even more. I'll have a look for the original, but in the meantime, over £50,000? Would you?
Having been to Wimbledon a few times, I'd much rather watch from the comfort of my sofa!!! The journey, the seats (uncomfortable), price of food and drink, queues for the loo!!!! But the atmosphere is unbelievable.
I wouldn't, if I could, but I can't.
Sharon .. I have comfy sofas...loo handy...kettle on ...fridge full...remote at arms length...how would 25k be ?? lol
I've only been to live tennis once, in Barcelona this year. Not quite the same atmosphere as I imagine Centre Court to be like, especially in 2013. I never had the money or even close to it but, if I had, it would have been worth every penny to be there for the final game of that match, let alone all of it.
Gosh david small and I thought I was boring.

Murraymints, I can't find it on-line, but I have the paper here.

Two tickets to Wimbledon final: yours for £52,000. Tickets for the quarter-final between Murray and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga fetched £8000 a pair.

Ludicrous!
I don't like anything that much to pay thousands...
You could buy 2 houses up here for that amount. Says a lot about those prepared to pay such vast sums just so they can say, "I was there when..............."
2 houses? Really?

//I don't like anything that much to pay thousands... //

I do ... but certainly not tickets to a game of tennis.
Ummmm @ 0923; "2 houses? Really?
Yes, ummmm, really. The house next door to me is currently on the market at £32,500. I would imagine there are many small towns in the NW of the country with similar housing markets.
blummin heck Ken..I'll take 3 or 4 at that price !! where are you ?
Sunny Burnley-by the-canal, mm:-)
Seems a lot of money to watch ping-pong on grass.
Naomi - I meant for one event.

Ken - the house opposite me is on the market for £275K. It's a 3 bed terrace! (Over priced imo)
