Tomorrow is a BIG day for the Curling teams.

The semi finals.

After "that" last stone in the play offs today, we know that the boys can play under pressure.

And we definitely know that the girls can do it. Eve Muirhead is focused. She's cool. She's the ice maiden.

I think we can do it. I really do.

Come on, Team GB.

COME ON, THE CURLING TEAMS !!

A win tomorrow for either team will guarantee at least a Silver medal.

Obviously.
Well here's hoping, though the GB women are facing unbeaten Canada... will be very tough, anyway.
Question Author
It will be tough.

But I'm sure Eve M will not be worried.
Go Teams GB, win yourselves a medal!!!!

for beginners, David Attenborough explains curling, alpha female with her walnuts and all...

Very good, lol

But don't let Eve Muirhead find out that Anna Sloan is the "alpha female" or there will be a cat fight.
I've sometimes wondered if Pussy Riot is another name for Cat Fight (just to stay briefly with the Russian theme)
Not looking too good at the moment for GB women - but they are up against the best in the world.

Only one down, and ...

Can someone who knows about curling please explain to me why Eve didn't play to put her last stone nearer the bull to win one shot for GB in round 8? Instead she played to knock the Canadian stone out of the target and both stones went out. No score was the result of the round.
Two ends to go, and Canada leading by two points still. Feel that we'll need either to blank another end or score three...
Dodger, it was so she could the advantage of having the last stone in the next end.
If there is no score in an end, the order the play remains the same.
^^^keep the advantage ^^^
Also.......why are GB sliding the last stone in round 9? I thought they took it in turns.

That's assuming I wasn't dreaming that GB slid the last stone in round 8.
Dodger, had she scored in that end, she would have passed the advantage of the 'hammer' (the last stone) to the Canadians.
Canada pulling out the shots they need again... Not sure there's any choice other than to blank end 9 too now.
Brilliant shot by Eve and puts the pressure on the Canadians.
Ah well, not to be. It'll have to be bronze tomorrow.
Yes, at least we made the Canadians have to win at the last. Damage was done in the second end, it seems, and then several good shots by Canada stopped us from ever picking up two when we needed it.
Yeah, no disgrace in losing to the unbeaten Canadians. Just hope the men can go further.
