well, the numerical plus before play starts is we've made half the runs we need to make for a draw with half our wickets in hand..

I like your thinking, sloopy. I'd like to see Stokes get the 28 he needs - preferably off one over
Question Author
28 off any number of overs would be nice ;)
Stokes to score a double hundred, ably supported by Prior, and quick-fire 50s from Bresnan and Swann at the death for a win by two wickets.

These are just some of the things that aren't going to happen today.

jim, is this really the time for that kind of talk??

have a white feather that man!!
I hope that the weather is warmer than in my Perth - some daylight would help too. :-)
year round temperatures in the 80s, I think, and so many beaches they have one set aside for dogs. (None for cats.)
Broad to score the winning runs batting on one leg ... just before I wake up!
Beat me to it, sloopy !! And will you guys just cut out the doom and gloom, they haven't lost it ....YET !!

Would like to see Stokes get his ton, he's toiled hard for it so far.

Play has started, quite a bit cooler there today, it's all arrived here !
England need 217 runs with 5 wickets in hand, Stokes is on 93 .......
Ok Prior has gone and Stokes has moved to 94 ....very patient player
Stokes has his ton, well done young man
Lunch time England 6/332 Bresnan on 7 Stokes 117
You know, this match could go any one of three ways and I wouldn't like to put money on any one of them.
Stokes out for 120, 7/341
Oh sh!te should have keep quiet ..... 1 more wicket to get and we've won!!
Cock a doodle DOOO !!!!
England have lost the ashes.
Question Author
congratulations Australia, well-deserved win

so, England's difficulties with selection, attitude, tactics, being completely outplayed all round and thanking Stokes and Carberry for leaving us a shred of dignity aside, is there anything we should be worried about in Melbourne?
