Two sets down in no time. This is when champions show what they're made of. Let's see.

Of course now that you say that Wawrinka breaks again. I believe Jimmy Connors was known for epic comebacks, so Murray will need a leaf out of his book!

He was in a similar position against Verdasco at Wimbledon this year, but from 2-0 and 3-1 down... not expecting anything special.

Stats that some up up -- twice as many errors as winners for Murray, three times fewer winners than Wawrinka has, Murray has won only a quarter of points against the Wawrinka serve but it's almost half-and-half on his own service -- and Murray hasn't had a single break point opportunity so far. Only three more games to get the chance he needs...
bye bye !!!!!
Aw well, can't win them all.
4, 3 ad 2. Murray won't lose by that scoreline often in future. Well done Wawrinka!
no jim 1-1-1 sounds better

Not a fan?

He doesn't always comes across as the most likeable person on court, but at least he wins rather more often than not. Not tonight, though. But until ten minutes ago, Murray held two of the four top trophies in Men's Singles tennis (or perhaps even 3/5 if you count the Olympics).

The "not a fan" thing was meant for bernie -- a crossed post, I think.

I really would like to see Stan follow this up with a trip to the final, can he get past Novak/ Youzhny? I'd fancy him to beat the Russian, but Nole might be too tough. In retrospect you could say that Murray never looked comfortable this tournament, but then again you could have said the same for his run to the title last year, so... on the day Wawrinka was better.

He's still defending Wimbledon and Olympics champion -- and hopefully he'll have a good run in the next few tournaments in Asia... still has the potential to be a very good year for Murray.

I agree Jim360, well said.

When it all boils down there are just three words to sum up the accomplishments of Mr Murray:

Come on Tim! :P

Wawrinka has always proved a tough oppo for Murray.
I like Stan the Man...............he's an under-appreciated player.
Stan is a superb player who most likely will replace my idol Roger Federer as the Swiss No.1.
Is this the first thread of the US Open? I've been looking for one but thought no one was interested in tennis here.
Poor Andy. Whatever he tried just wasn't good enough, and Stan played out of his skin. It can't be long till he's the Swiss No. I can it?
Wawrinka managing to keep his form too, has a 6-2 4-2 lead over Djokovic at the moment... wow!
Great to see him carry on where he left off with Murray. Come on, Stan!
