Australia won the toss and chose to bat, going along swimmingly at 29 without loss after half an hour.
Not used to this(Aussie openers getting a good start) and generally expect a wicket every 30-40 minutes.
Hopefully a breakthrough is not far away....

Agreed.....good batting wicket, a bit of movement for the bowlers, expect a good start from the Aussie openers.

What is it with the software on this site? We inexplicably aren't allowed consecutive capital letters(currently suffering Edl, Ne, Fao, Pc etc in News), yet get a capital letter after a number?
Utter cack!

Apologies Ed, not had a rant about it in a while! LOL

As I'm in work for 12.30 and our IT dept now even deny us access to the BBC website I'll be looking at the good folk of AB to keep me updated with their own musings on matters throughout the day.
not even espncricinfo.com?

Coming up to the first hour, Australia at 44/0.
Off to my Club now, but just have the feeling that it is to be a long day in the field for England unless Swann can prove me wrong.

Aussie openers.......still there.
Chris Rogers gets his 50 at better than a run a ball -- 12 off an Anderson over!
Watson gone!
And there's the breakthrough -- Bresnan bowls a corker, apparently, to take the wicket of Watson. 76/1.
Watson's out 1/76
c Cook b Bresnan for 19

^ *76/1
Khawaja goes ten minutes before lunch for 1 - 82/2.
Khawaja given out after a review, 82/2
Looks like Khawaja was unlucky there, but then if we are calling for the on-field decision to be respected...
only got TMS jim, seems controversial though

And he was given out originally anyway.

Lunch couldn't have come soon enough after that final ten overs when Australia went from 74/0 to 92/2. Rogers well set, though. Honours even at lunch.
there'll be calls for a decision review system for drs next
Incidentally, yet another example where absence of evidence was evidence of absence... such a pity that people keep quoting the other version that's just not true.
Just back from the Club.....2 wickets down........pleasant surprise.
Rogers out lbw to Swann, for 84
Poor decision on khuwaja by the third umpire.
No hotspot, no sound, no deviation, no look back. Not out.

I'm not calling him back though! :)
