England draw the First Test against NZ.

But what a knock by Finn. OK, not the fiercest bowling attack in the world by any stretch but there can't be many night watchmen who've faced 203 balls in an innings on their way to a maiden half century!

Well done that man.

I'd have to agree with that.
The pitch was flatter than a very flat thing, that was having a bit of a flat day ... but still a brilliant effort by Steven Finn.

Roll on Wellington on Wednesday night :+)
great performance - oustanding display of application, specially when it looked like they'd hit the self-destruct button in the first innings
Jason Gillespie made 201* as a nightwatchman once, albeit against Bangladesh, in April 2006.

But yes it's a rare event and there's been only 6 centuries (two by Mark Boucher though) and a few scores of 80+.

Alex Tudor apparently made 99 n.o. as a night watchman in 1999, missing out on a century as England won the test before he could score that final run!
